Dear Christian Friends,

We have had a fruitful year at Sunset Bible Camp. There were so many victories and positive things happening at Sunset. We had new roofs on all the teaching shelters, new steps down to the lake and even a new tractor. There were 50 baptisms at camp and many others in the home Churches. Sunset has truly been blessed in 2023.

Sunset Bible Camp’s Annual Celebration is scheduled for Sunday January 21, 2024. The General Board Meeting is at 3pm and the Celebration is at 4pm. It will include an auction, outdoor fun, community, and s’mores. Dinner will be served at 4:30 pm and we’re asking for a donation of $7 per person and $5 per child or $20 per family.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year. I am so thankful to all the Churches and individuals that have responded to the Trustees’ recent fundraising letter “Sunset Steps Campaign”. We have raised approximately $31,000 of the $118,000 goal and encourage you to continue to promote Sunset’s fundraiser. The lives of so many campers have been changed for the Lord at camp. Your generosity is truly a testament to your support of Sunset Bible Camp. Thank you and God bless you!

Dear Christian Friends,

We began the summer camp season with High School Camp followed by Middle School Camp. The theme for both camps was Renew: Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength based on Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”. There were 7 baptisms during High School week and 12 during Middle school week. They raised $2029.73 for Against Global Hunger.

Our 4th and 5th Grade Camp was rescheduled for the end of July because of the storm on Father’s Day. 2nd and 3rd Grade Camp was on schedule. This year the theme was “I am Team” and they focused on raising funds for Live Church Solutions. They raised $2066.02 and there were 5 baptisms. We had a total of 50 baptisms at Sunset this summer with the rental Churches. Praise the LORD!

Thank you so much for your continued support of Sunset Bible Camp. We strive each year to improve and update the camp. This year we were able update the three shelters on the campground before the 2023 camp season started. These shelters are used all summer long. A new kitchen island was also purchased thanks to a donor and matching funds.

We are so grateful for reliable partners like you who invest in Sunset Bible Camp. Lives are changed and decisions for the Lord are made in this place. Thank you for your part in making it happen.

Dear Christian Friends,

We wanted to let you know what a great Annual Celebration was had at Sunset Bible Camp. Thank you to all of those who attended. There was 115 in attendance. Everyone enjoyed a meal and were treated to Sunset’s new promotional video on the homepage.

Camp is right around the corner. We encourage your church to go and reserve slots while they can. The “Early Bird” ends on April 20th for all camps. The “Regular Rate” varies depending on which camp you plan to attend. If you have any questions, contact the camp at (918) 865-2246. We are still needing lifeguards and zip line workers this summer, call us for details.

We have been blessed with a large gift to repair the 3 shelters on the camp’s property. The roofs needed to be redone and some of the wooden frames replaced due to termite damage. The work will be done this month and be ready for use this summer. Thank you!

One of the things in the kitchen that needs to be replaced is the kitchen island. We have a donor that has committed to match gifts given to this project up to $3000. So far, we have received $1500. The new stainless-steel island is $6500. There are other improvements Sunset Bible Camp has just click the “Needs List” above. If you are able to help with the matching funds for the kitchen island or any other improvements we would appreciate your help for these special projects.

God is continually blessing Sunset. So many lives are changed for the Lord here and you are a big part of it. You are a blessing to us and truly appreciated. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

Dear Christian Friends,

The Christmas season is upon us, and we wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are thankful for all our member Churches and individuals that invest their time, prayers, and money to make Sunset Bible Camp happen each year. 2022 was a wonderful success because you made it happen. Thank you all!

Recently, we added a “Needs List” to Sunset’s website. Many people have asked how they can help Sunset and we now can direct them to the list so that you can see how to help. Some of these are big ticket items, like a tractor or camp truck, but the camp always needs kitchen towels, pot holders, batteries, shower curtains and other items to help it operate.

This coming January, the Trustees want to invite you to Sunset’s Annual Celebration on January 22, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. It is open to all ages. There will be door prizes, a silent auction, outdoor games, an early, pulled pork sandwich dinner and s'mores for dessert. We will also give you a brief update on Sunset’s plans for the 2023 season. We hope that you are able to attend and would appreciate it if you would call (918) 865-2246 or email the camp at liz@sunsetbiblecamp.org to let us know how many from your Church plan to come out and help us celebrate. Please let us know by Wednesday, January 18th 2023.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Dear Christian Friends,

We have completed the 2022 Camp season and it has been exceptional. We had great Deans and Sponsors that made it possible for everyone to have a memorable time.

We began this summer with the High School age group. There were 142 campers and 34 sponsors in attendance. It was followed by the Middle School camp and there were 193 campers and 28 sponsors. The theme for the camps was the Prodigal based on Luke 15.11-32 Their missions was World Outreach Ministries – Giving Back Hope Together and they raised $1249.77 This ministry’s mission is to aid those most in need with food, medical services, and opportunities that would not exist otherwise, and they are based in Nairobi, Kenya. We had 4 baptisms during High School week and 12 baptisms during Middle School.

The younger campers’ theme was Sunset Park and the Bible scripture for them was 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Be on your guard. Remain strong in the faith. Be brave. Be loving in everything you do”. 5th & 6th grade had 179 campers and 40 sponsors and 3rd & 4th grade had 144 campers and 49 sponsors. Their mission was Creation Truth Foundation and they raised $1442.89 This ministry’s mission is training disciples to trust the accuracy of biblical history, so that they will trust its promise for their destiny, and they are based in Noble, Oklahoma.

Sunset Bible Camp hosted other Churches this summer with an additional 13 baptisms. So that’s 29 baptisms at camp this summer, plus many more at their home churches. We even had a marriage proposal. GOD IS GOOD!!! God is certainly moving in this place, and we are so thankful for our Member Churches and Individuals who faithfully support the camp.

Dear Christian Friends,

We wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. We are so thankful to count you as a supporter of Sunset Bible Camp with your financial gifts and your prayers. Your generosity and faithful support enabled Sunset to have a successful 2021 camp season.

This year we were able to have camp and it was such a blessing. The Deans and adult leaders worked on having a safe, fun, and God centered camp for all who attended. The Deans are already working on next year’s camp season and we ask that you be in prayer for 2022. If you are able to come out as a sponsor we would be thrilled to have you.

Our Annual Board Meeting is coming up and the Chairman of the Board and Trustees have decided to have an Annual Sunset Celebration so that more Camp members will come out and celebrate Sunset Bible Camp with us. It is scheduled for Sunday January 23, 2022 at 3:30 pm at Sunset Bible Camp. The camp will be providing an early dinner and there will be door prizes, a silent auction, outdoor games and more. Dear Christian Friends,

We wanted to thank you for your support and encourage you with an update on our 2021 camp season. We are so grateful that we were able to have our Member Churches’ camps and to host other Churches this summer.

This year we started out with the younger kid’s camp. The 3rd and 4th graders and 5th and 6th graders had a Sunset Olympics theme, and their main scripture was Acts 20:24 where they focused on God’s grace and finishing the race. There was a baptism during 5th and 6th grade camp and the combined camps raised $3050.96 for their mission a ministry that reaches out to Muslims.

The Middle School week of camp was great, and their theme was Frequency tuning in to the voice that matters. The campers were encouraged to listen and learn from God because He wants to connect to them. The boys raised $480.58 for a ministry that helps trafficked boys. The girls raised $569.02 for a ministry that helps trafficked girls. There was one baptism this week.

We finished our season with the High School kids and their theme was Blinded. The campers learned that we are living in a world of darkness and although we are all weak, we have a Savior who loves us and wants to use us. These campers raised $1088.92 for a ministry proclaiming Jesus to India by planting Churches, equipping Pastors, drilling wells, sponsoring children and more.

It was wonderful to have Sunset Bible Camp full of young people praising and worshiping the Lord. We had four more weeks of rental camps and another 25 people were baptized in the pool. Praise the Lord.

We want you all to know that this would not have been possible without you. It is the Churches and individuals that support Sunset that have enabled this year to happen. Thank you and God bless you for your generosity and prayers.

Psalm 9:1 “I will praise you O Lord, with all my heart, I will tell of all your wonders.”

Dear Christian Friends,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. We are so blessed to have you supporting and praying for Sunset Bible Camp.

It is with a grateful heart that I want to inform you that as of this writing you have contributed over $58,000 to our plea to the online fundraiser. We had a $50,000 goal and you gave abundantly. Thank you so much for your generosity to Sunset Bible Camp and to us. Elizabeth and I are humbled by your bountiful response. These funds allow Sunset Bible camp to continue into the Summer. We are praying for a fantastic camp season in 2021.

We are so thankful to the leadership of Sunset Bible Camp and their quick response to working on a solution to the situation at camp. We want to thank each Church that sacrificially sent money to Sunset. Thank you to the many individuals that felt called to support this ministry. God knows what we need and will always supply our needs. He has faithfully provided, through His people, the blessings that will continue to keep Sunset Bible Camp moving forward. Praise the Lord!

May God bless you and keep you.

2nd Update 2020
posted September 8, 2020 by Eric Hupp
Dear Christian Friends,

We hope you are all doing well during these trying times. We want to personally thank each and every one of you for your support. So many of you have responded to our plea for funds to continue the operation of Sunset Bible Camp and we are totally grateful for your assistance.

This summer all of the camps that we regularly host were cancelled. Because other youth activities around the country were cancelled as well, we had four events with our member Churches during the month of July. These were small groups that used CIY materials to worship the Lord here at Sunset. We also hosted a Church, that was not able to use their regular camp, because their camp was shut down for the year. There were two baptisms from that camp. Praise the Lord! Collinsville Christian Church did an outdoor camp on the other side of the lake where they slept in tents. The final event was held by Cedar Ridge Christian Church they had a great overnight family camp. We are so thankful to these groups for their participation. It was encouraging to see Sunset being used for the glory of the Lord. The groups did their best to stay safe during their time here.

Sunset also was able to receive a PPP loan. The amount was for around $15,300 and it is being used to help pay for salaries for Elizabeth and I. We have enough funds now to operate until January 2021. Please continue to pray for Sunset. We need around $30,000.00 before the start of the 2021 season.

The camp is an irreplaceable resource for the member Churches and the groups that come out here each year to draw close to God. We are looking forward to being able to inform you soon on plans for the 2021 camp season. Please continue to pray and support Sunset Bible Camp.

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

1st Update 2020
posted May 5, 2020 by Eric Hupp
Dear Christian Friends,

We hope this letter finds you healthy and safe as you spend time with your loved ones during this strange Coronavirus Pandemic.

This year the Board or Trustees has decided to cancel our physical weeks of summer camp. Instead, the Deans for this year, have determined to host virtual camps online. The Deans will soon be announcing more details and plans for these camps. Please keep all the Deans, and those helping with this virtual experience, in your prayers as they look to reach out to their students. Pray that the virtual camp will be successful and have an impact in the lives of the young people that participate.

We are grateful for the continued support of our Member Churches and pray that they will also continue to be supported during these trying times. Sunset Bible Camp appreciates these contributions, but eighty percent of the camp’s income comes from summer camp fees, other Churches that rent the camp during the summer and retreats. Right now, we will not have the income from the 2020 Camp season and most of the Churches renting the camp this summer have informed us that they will not be able to do summer camp this year. The camp has applied for a PPP loan, but have not heard back, yet.

We are keeping you apprised of the situation, because we want the Member Churches to know that currently the camp has funds to pay the bills through September of this year. We are cutting all monthly expenses that we are able.

Please pray for Sunset Bible Camp. If you are able to help the camp financially, it will be greatly appreciated. This past year we had so many victories including 42 baptisms at Sunset, as well as paying off the loan and the many improvements. Sunset Bible Camp has been making an impact in many lives for the past 42 years in Mannford. Help us continue to bless the campers and sponsors that utilize Sunset to reach people for Christ.

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Spring 2020
posted April 7, 2020 by Eric Hupp
Dear Christian Friends,

Sunset Bible Camp has from its very start been a way to bring students and leaders together in community while growing in their faith and worshipping their Creator. The outbreak of Covid19 has interrupted life across all avenues. Schools have closed and brought their students online for distance learning. Churches are worshipping remotely and gathering virtually for small groups, youth groups and more. Churches continue to help the needy and the poor. Businesses are closed and life has altered dramatically. The Sunset board of Trustees has seen this firsthand among all the churches they represent. It remains of utmost importance to create community in this period of isolation. Students still need guidance, encouragement, communion and challenge even as we operate in an unknown timeframe of flux.

The hope is that life returns to normal quicker rather than later, however there may be parts to life that never return to normal. Life has been forever touched by the cross-section of worldwide pandemic and retreat into a technology assisted isolation. That presents some challenges for Youth and Children’s Ministries and Churches in general. How do we plan for the unknown? What are the best ways for us to prepare for the near future?

Instead of focusing on the unknown and loss, the Trustees have determined to still make this year an impact on God’s kingdom through the renewal and transforming of kids and students for His work! Rather than spend time trying to do two things half as well, Sunset has determined to do one thing excellent this summer. The Trustees have decided that given the current situation, we are unable to adequately plan an in-person camp on the grounds at Sunset in Mannford. However, we still have many opportunities to create community, provide guidance and bring challenges to the lives of students that may still be stuck at home. For the first time in history, Sunset will be hosting virtual camps that can be streamed directly to the TVs and phones of our students and leaders across the internet. We hope to soon announce more details about the plan and vision. We know that it will not look exactly like a normal year at Sunset, but we also know this Spring has not looked like a normal year anywhere!

Imagine a virtual week where we provide materials for students to have simultaneous encounters with God in their own backyards. Or coming together on YouTube for a live worship experience that has real time encouragement and challenge. Utilizing tech like Zoom or Google Hangouts, we can bring students together for small group experiences from all over. And we’ll have the opportunity to bring in teachers that might normally be unavailable due to travel or scheduling!

As we continue to plan this there are couple things to consider. First, we still have expenses for the camp whether we use it on site or not. The camp is mutually owned by our churches. The major revenue for the camp comes from tuitions which will not be available. This means, we still need to come together to help support the camp even while we look into fundraising and relief packages to help during this unprecedented time in history. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more about how the summer programming will work and how you can help.

In the meantime, if you want to donate something to help, you can do so here: sunsetbiblecamp.org/donate

Please make sure everyone in your leadership sees this letter so that it can be communicated well. Also, please pray for God to be known during this period of uncertainty and for God’s will to be done even in the midst of chaos in the world.

In Christ,

Sunset Bible Camp Board of Trustees

Dear Christian Friends,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the blessings of family and friends. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Thank you for your prayers and financial support.

Sunset Bible Camp has had an amazing 2019. The summer camp season was very successful, and our member Churches continued to utilize the facilities the rest of the year. First Christian Church of Sapulpa had a Men’s Encounter and Sperry Christian Church had a Men’s and Women’s Retreat. Sandusky Avenue Christian Church hosted a High School Fall Retreat and a Ladies’ Retreat. To name a few. We are excited to see our member Churches taking ownership of the camp and using this wonderful facility to reach out to their congregations.

This year we had so many blessings at Sunset. We had a volunteer build a hexagon and swings surrounding the prayer cross. It’s a spot on the campground for reflection and peace. Also, a beautiful large deck was built down at the lake. The camp received a side by side Polaris that has helped greatly with work around the property. A commercial floor scrubber was donated that will help keep the floors clean and nice. We also have a volunteer that has saved the camp thousands of dollars by donating his time to fix many of the heating and air conditioning units.

During this time last year, the Camp still owed approximately $45,000 for the improvements of a few years ago. We want to thank all the supporting Churches and individuals who gave special gifts to help retire this debt. A big thank you to the anonymous individual who paid off the remaining $24,000 to allow us to start 2020 with a clean slate. PRAISE THE LORD!

We hope that this letter is encouraging to you. Sunset Bible Camp is a facility that is used by God to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and you are a huge part of making it happen. God bless you and yours!

Dear Christian Friends,

Sunset Bible Camp has had a wonderful 2019 season. We had 770 campers as well as 149 Sponsors during our weeks of camp. The older campers’ theme was “Walk” and they were challenged to live and be committed to God. We had 160 high school campers and 251 middle school campers. They raised money for “Sole Hope” a ministry based out of North Carolina that is providing hope, healthier lives and freedom from foot related diseases for people in Uganda. The total raised for “Sole Hope was $2844.21 The younger campers’ theme was “Something Amazing” and they were encouraged to thank God for the gift of grace and to share God’s grace. We had 181 5th & 6th graders and 178 3rd & 4th graders, and they raised $2418.12 for the Spencer family and their ministry. There were other groups that used Sunset this summer and we had over 1000 people enjoy the campground and 7 people were baptized. With one more week to go we are thankful to be a part of this amazing ministry. It has been a fun, impactful, and successful camp season.

Sunset had a new deck constructed down at the lake. It was a great addition to the existing dock. It really helped with the mud from all the spring rains and the exposed rocks. It was a big blessing to all. We also had a Hexagon with swings added to the Prayer cross by the pond. It was wonderful to see kids of all ages enjoying a quiet time in the shade. A big thank you to the donor and the volunteer who built this beautiful structure. The camp also invested in a public address system that can share announcements to each dorm and across the campground. We continually try to improve on the facility so that we can reach our youth for the Lord.

The Sunset Rising fund raiser is over! Sunset Bible Camp has been able to pay off the loan for the improvements we made to our dorms, pool and zip line a couple of years ago. A generous donation, from a loving friend of the camp was able to finish paying off the loan. Praise the Lord! God has been so good to Sunset and we give Him all the Glory.

Dear Christian Friends,

We wanted to thank you for your support and prayers. We pray that 2019 will be a blessing to you, just as we are blessed to have you as our partner in reaching people for Christ.

We have had several retreats so far this year and are glad that Sunset Bible Camp continues to be used by our Member Churches. We had our Annual Board Meeting at Osage Hills Christian Church and it was a great time to update everyone on what is happening at Camp. We shared with you Project Sunset – an adoption program, where you can adopt one of the buildings or structures around camp and help to maintain it and improve it. If you would like more information, call us and we can fill you in on how you can help.

The 2019 camp season is less than 100 days away and online registration is now open. The deadline for the “Early Bird” is May 6th and we encourage you to go ahead and register and claim your spot for this year’s fun and exciting season.

You came through for Sunset and were able to raise over $17,000 to pay off the Sunset Rising Campaign. The remainder of the balance for the camp improvements is approximately $32,000. That is down $50,000 as of this time last year. Praise the Lord! This would not be possible without you.

Thank you again, for all you do for Sunset Bible Camp. We appreciate your prayers, support and participation in all of Sunsets’ programs. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we look forward to the 2019 summer camp season.

Dear Christian Friends,

We have been blessed to count on your support and prayers. Sunset Bible Camp has been thriving in Mannford for over 40 years! Many lives have been changed for Christ because of support from people like yourself. Sunset wants to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your loving support of this ministry.   This fall Sperry Christian Church and Sandusky Avenue Christian Church had Men’s Retreats at Sunset and Sperry had a Ladies Retreat. Sandusky Avenue Christian Church and First Christian Church of Cleveland enjoyed their Fall Retreat again this year for the High School students. What a joy it is to see people making decisions for Jesus Christ and changing their lives at this wonderful place. Praise the Lord!

The “Sunset Rising” Campaign is still ongoing. We are humbled by the response of our supporting Churches and individuals who love Sunset Bible Camp. You have been so generous and good to us. The approximate balance on the loan stands at $45,000. We want to continue to make improvements and remodels on some of the structures around the camp, like the King and Chapel Dorms, but cannot begin to do so until this debt is retired.

We need your help! We would like to ask if you would consider making a special contribution to help us pay off the remainder of what the Camp owes. This is the time of year where so many worthy ministries and organizations are asking for a special gift or end of year gift. We want to remind you that this past summer there were over 2000 people enjoying summer camp here and a total of 50 individuals were baptized at Sunset Bible Camp in 2018. There are numerous activities hosted here, throughout the year, and we believe that Sunset Bible Camp is making a difference for the kingdom. Please consider Sunset Bible Camp as a ministry that is deserving of your support this Holiday Season.

Thank you, for all you do for the Camp. We want to wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and blessed Christmas season.

Dear Christian Friends,

We have completed another terrific Camp Season. Thank you for your prayers and support. Sunset Bible Camp is successful because of your willingness to support the camp and all the activities that take place on the campground.

Our summer began with the High School age campers and there were 183 campers and 2 baptisms. They raised $684.12 for Jacob and Dani Long in their ministry to India. The Middle School Week was the largest camp with 235 campers and 5 baptisms. They raised $1331.18 for Jacob and Dani Long. The theme for both camps was “Wake Up” and their scripture reference was Ephesians 5:14. There were 194 campers at 5th and 6th Grade Camp. They raised $1349.32 for Creation Truth Foundation. We wrapped up our weeks of camp with the 3rd and 4th Grade Camp and their 184 campers. They also raised $652.10 for Creation Truth. Their theme was Jurassic Sunset Park and scripture reference 1 Peter 3:15

Sunset Bible Camp hosted several other Churches over the summer and had an additional 1100 campers come through with another 43 baptisms. We had 50 baptisms at Sunset this season. PRAISE THE LORD! This summer we also facilitated a Men’s Encounter, a Family Reunion, a Church Picnic and a very special Wedding. Sunset Bible Camp is making a difference for the Lord and you are part of this amazing ministry.

The camp is a wonderful place that has made an impact in many lives. With your support, we can make it even better. We have raised $31,960 so far this year to go toward the Sunset Rising Campaign. We still owe about $51,000 to finish paying up the loan and with your help we can do it. Please consider sending Sunset Bible Camp a special gift to help us be debt free as we continue to grow.

This year, 2018, Sunset Bible Camp celebrated 40 years in Mannford. Help us continue to be an influence for the Lord for many more years to come.

Dear Christian Friends,

We would like to thank you for your prayers and support of Sunset Bible Camp. We really appreciate each of you and your continuing interest in this valuable ministry.

Sunset Bible Camp continues to host our member Churches in a number of retreats. These past couple of months we had our annual Mid-Winter retreat and had a record number of campers. There were 130 campers and over 20 took the Polar Bear Plunge. We had a Men’s Retreat from First Christian Church in Cleveland, a couple’s retreat from Sperry Christian Church and a Men’s Encounter. The facilities are being utilized by so many and that is why it is important to maintain the property and the buildings in good working order.

The “Sunset Rising” Campaign is still ongoing and will continue until the loan is paid off. This year at our General Board Meeting we started a new Campaign called 90/90 In this challenge we are asking 90 people to donate $1000 in the next 90 days to reach our goal. The donation can be in full or spread out through the year. The balance on the loan is approximately $82,000 as of this writing. Recently, we mailed each Member Church a letter from the Trustees and some commitment cards and we hope that you will promote it to your congregation. You can find out more at Sunsets website under “Sunset Rising”. This year, 2018, Sunset Bible Camp celebrates 50 years in Mannford. Help us reach our goal of raising the funds so that we can continue to improve our facilities and reach out to our campers with the saving message of Jesus for the next 50.

The summer camp season is right around the corner and registration will go live on March 1st 2018. This year the camp prices have gone up slightly. This is the first increase in 15 years. Encourage your campers to register before the Early bird of May 7th 2018 to save $30.

Again, thank you for all you do to help Sunset Bible Camp. It could not be done without your prayers and financial support.

Psalm 136:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.”

Summer 2017
posted Aug 24, 2017 by Eric Hupp
Dear Christian Friends,

We want to thank you for your prayers and support. We have had a fantastic summer at Sunset Bible Camp with many lives changed for Christ.

The summer began with an Open House in May. This was a great opportunity for many of our member Churches to come out and spend the day swimming, zip lining, eating and just having a fun time. We then had High School Camp. There were 187 campers and two young people were baptized. They raised $830.09 for Jardin de Gracia a school for poor children in rural Honduras.

The next group to come out were the 7th & 8th Graders. There were 194 campers and three were baptized. They raised $632.06 for Journey House a pregnancy resource center in Enid, Oklahoma.

We had 190 campers for 5th & 6th Grade Camp and they raised $634.45 for missions. The 3rd & 4th graders had 184 campers and one baptism. The raised $642.15 for missions. These two groups designated that their funds go to Frontiers an International movement that has sent more than 2,000 leaders to reside and plant Churches in Muslim communities overseas.

We had over a thousand other campers attend Sunset Bible Camp and an additional 42 people were baptized at camp this summer. It is a privilege to be part of a ministry that makes such a profound impact in the lives of people.

The Camp has raised an additional $30,000 to go to the “Sunset Rising” campaign. This means that we still owe the Bank $92,702. The funds are coming in and we truly appreciate it, but we still need your help. Sunset Bible Camp is a resource to you that is valuable and precious. Help us to continue to be a shining light and to make a difference in the lives of so many by giving toward this campaign. If we all participate in the fund raisers and give individual gifts we can pay off the loan and be debt free.

Thank you for your generous support to Sunset and may God bless you richly. Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.

Open House

Dear Christian Friends,

The 2017 Camp Season begins on June 4th and we are excited to see what the Lord does this year. This year we are kicking things off with an Open House for everyone to enjoy. The date for the Open House is May 20th from 10 am – 4 pm. It will be a fun time for families to check out what Sunset Bible Camp is all about.

This Open House is an introduction to our member families who have not had an opportunity to attend an event at Sunset Bible Camp. It will allow your children to experience what it is like to come to Sunset Bible Camp in the future. Lunch is provided at 12:00 and donations are appreciated. Your whole family is welcome to come out and swim, fish, use the climbing and repelling wall, the new zip line and just check us out.

We would appreciate it if you ask your families to Sign up of the website so that we may have an idea on how many to plan lunch for. You may also sign up as a Church and let us know how many you are planning to bring. Please go HERE to Register.

Thank you for being part of Sunset Bible Camp. We are looking forward to seeing you on May 20, 2017.

2017 Promo

Dear Christian Friends,

Summer Camp is just around the corner and we wanted to send you the posters for promotional purposes. The campers should have received a postcard in the mail encouraging them to register for camp online.

The Early Bird date this year is May 8, 2017 for campers and sponsors. Please share this information with your congregation so that everyone will register for camp in a timely manner. Camp tuition for Sunset Bible Camp has not increased in the last 15 years and next year you should expect a small increase for all camps.

If you have young people who are interested in being a CIT (Counselor in Training) they can download the CIT application online on Sunset’s website. They should click on the Register button and click on CIT. All the information is there and the deadline for that is also May 8th. The Training date for that is May 20th from 2pm-4pm.

Spring 2017

Dear Christian Friends,

We wish you, all our supporters, a prosperous and happy New Year. We are so thankful for your generosity and faithfulness to Sunset Bible Camp. Your support, this past year, has made a huge impact for Christ as many decisions for the Lord were made at camp. There were 48 baptisms at Sunset in 2016 and that is exciting.

During the month of January, we hosted Mid-winter for the High School kids. There were 119 in attendance and 23 brave souls took the Polar Bear plunge at the lake. We also hosted a ladies retreat from Sperry Christian Church and they had a great time. We are so pleased that you can take advantage of the great facility that God has blessed us all with.

The General Board Meeting was held on January 19th and our Chairman of the Board, Paul Ortiz, did a great job in updating the member Churches of the upcoming fund raisers to help Sunset Bible Camp raise the funds for the upgrades that were made last year. You have already responded with generosity, and several of the member Churches had fundraisers in your Church to help us out. We have raised approximately $48,000 of the $170,000 needed and that is so encouraging. Of course, there is still a long way to go, but we trust in the Lord that you will continue to help us reach this goal.

There will be upcoming information on some of the ways you can help us raise the money for the Sunset Rising Campaign. The campaign will be ongoing until the loan is paid off. Please help us by going to sunsetbiblecamp.org and clicking on the link or go to Facebook and click on the donate button. We appreciate any amount that you can donate.

Again, thank you for your generosity. Lives are changed at Sunset Bible Camp. Your gifts make a difference for eternity.

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Fall 2016

Dear Christian Friends,

Another Summer has gone by and we are getting ready for the Fall season. We thank you for supporting and being a part of Sunset Bible Camp. The Camp would not be here without the financial and prayerful support of the partner Churches and individuals that faithfully contribute to this ministry.

This past summer after our weeks of camp, we had close to 900 people at Sunset during July and August and an additional 32 baptisms. There were a variety of youth camps, family camps and a men’s encounter. We also hosted a new partner Church one weekend. We want to welcome Oakwood Christian Church to our family and look forward to having them with us next summer.

Sunset Bible Camp is a very important ministry and it needs your help. This past January at the General Board Meeting, we met with our member Churches and informed them of the launch of the $170,000.00 Sunset Rising Campaign. The trustees wanted to step out on faith and get some much needed improvements to the camp. These projects have been completed and now we need to start paying for the loan the camp has obtained.

We know that many of you love the Camp and want to help. We ask that you let members of your congregation know that we are fundraising to pay off the loan. Many of your members have been to Sunset and know what a blessing the Camp is. This past Summer we heard from people that said they remembered coming out to Sunset when it didn’t have the lake, or another mentioned that the only dorms were the King’s Dorm. We have a wonderful facility that God has blessed us with, and we want to continue to do our best to improve it for future generations. Sunset Bible Camp wants to continue to be a blessing to your children and your grandchildren.

Thank you for partnering with us. Sunset Bible Camp is a pause and a calm in a busy, noisy world, serving the need to refocus on the Lord. Thank YOU for making that prayerfully and financially possible.

1Thessalonians 2:4 “We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.”

Dear Christian Friends,

Another fantastic camp season has gone by and we want to take the opportunity to thank each and every person that came out to help. This year right before camp, we were able to install the new zip line. Steve Johnson spearheaded this project and we now have a 700ft zip line from the top of the climbing wall to the other side of the lake. We owe a debt of gratitude to Lee Hamilton, who cleared trees and brush to make the project possible. The campers had a blast on the zip line and we think that it is a great addition to Sunset Bible Camp.

The improvements of the Sunset Rising campaign are complete. We made improvements to the campus in the form of insulating the North Dorms. This will greatly improve the cooling and heating of the dorms and save the camp money. There were dividers installed in the bathrooms and showers of the North Dorm and Kings Dorm allowing for privacy of the campers and sponsors. We had many positive comments regarding the new stalls. The swimming pool was remodeled and re-plastered allowing for more swimmers to be in the pool. The swimming pool was one of the original structures and was in great need of maintenance. The camp also purchased a second mower to replace the one that finally gave out last summer. The grounds look well-kept and pretty.

Thank you to the Deans, sponsors and volunteers that make it happen each year. It cannot be done without you! There was a total of 741 campers for the 2016 season and 16 baptisms. 2nd Grade Day Camp raised $238 for Sunset Bible Camp. The 3rd & 4th and 5th & 6th Graders raised $1489.75 for Voice of the Martyrs a ministry that serves the persecuted Church around the world. The 7th & 8th Grade and High School camp raised $1549.46 for Blackbox International a ministry that helps sex trafficked boys. It is a blessing to see that our young people are thinking of others and want to help. The mission’s experience during camp, gives them the opportunity to learn about what is happening outside of their environment.

We are truly blessed to have this wonderful facility to not only have fun, but to teach about Christ and His Church. Thank you for partnering with Sunset Bible Camp and helping us do our part of the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
